MANILA, Philippines — Miss Philippines Earth 2025 Joy Barcoma still had her final walk, though in an entirely different venue.

Joy attended the Love Laban Pride PH Festival held in UP Diliman, Quezon City, last Saturday, June 27.

The beauty queen, fondly called Jusa by her fans, wore a simple white off-shoulder gown with a rainbow sash as she walked the white party Pride event.

“Maraming salamat sa pag-tanggap sa akin ngayon gabi at maraming salamat sa pagmamahal,” the beauty queen told the crowd.

Beauty pageant practice dictates outgoing queens do their final walk before handing the crown to the new winner. In the case of Miss Philippines Earth, the coronation night was held in Bukidnon, where Cagayan’s Rina Andrea Delos Santos bested 31 other delegates to win the title. She was crowned by Miss Earth 2025 Natalie Puskinova of the Czech Republic.

Joy had earlier bared in a Facebook post that she will not have her farewell walk on the Miss Philippines Earth 2026 coronation night.

“As my reign comes to a close, I choose gratitude above everything else. To everyone who believed in me, supported me, and loved me from the very beginning, maraming maraming salamat po. If there is one thing I am ultimately proud of — it is that I devoted myself to making this reign meaningful.

“I maximized every platform I was given and I pursued every opportunity to serve, even if it meant walking much of that journey on my own. I have never waited for doors to open for me. I have knocked on them myself so I can pass this title better than I found it.

"This journey also reminded me that support doesn’t always come from every corner, even within the spaces you represent. But despite that, I chose grace, respect, and gratitude. That is how I carried this title, and that is how I choose to leave it,” she wrote.

She thanked the Miss Philippines Earth Organization for “entrusting” her with the title, and appealed to the public to continue supporting Miss Philippines Earth and its next queen.

Joy stressed that the platform was never about “being a queen,” but about carrying the mission of being "stewards of Earth."

“Tonight, I may not have a farewell walk. But perhaps that is the greatest reminder that a legacy is never measured by the number of steps she takes on stage but by footprints she leaves in the lives of others. Hindi natatapos sa entablado ang pagboses.  At hindi limitado ng korona ang adbokasiya. Thank you, Miss Philippines Earth. Thank you, everyone, for changing my life. I will always and forever be an Earth Queen,” she wrote on her June 27 Facebook post— Video by Philstar.com / Bernard S. Decloedt, editing by Hannah Santos
