Before she took the Miss Earth 2025 crown, Czech Republic's Natalie Puskinova drew cheers in the Q&A portion after delivering part of her answer in Filipino.
In the final round of the pageant, the final four ladies had to answer the same question: "Bill Gates, who is the leading proponent for carbon emissions reduction, recently proposed that resources must be shifted away from the battle against climate change to efforts that prevent disease and hunger. Do you agree?"
Natalie first answered in English, but ended it in Filipino.
"I'm not here today to pick a finger and choose what is worst, whether it is environmental causes or social problems. I believe that even though I live in the other side of the world, we are still facing the same climate change and we are facing this issue together," she said.
"I believe that if we all unite, we can prevent both hunger and environmental causes. And one message I wanna say, protektahan natin ang kalikasan."
Meanwhile, in the Top 8, Natalie had to expound on the word "parenthood."
"To me this is very specific word cause when I was 16 years old I unfortunately lost my father. He passed away and this is one thing that changed my life completely. But I still feel this day I'm trying to find the strength in me to not only fight for my dreams, to fight for what is right, to find the strength, but also to fight for our future and to fight for our environment," she said.
"This is the reason why I'm standing here today and I'm pretty sure that my dad is watching me from up there."
Sóldís Ívarsdóttir of Iceland was hailed as Miss Earth Air, while Ngo Thi Tram Anh of Vietnam and Waree Ngamkham of Thailand were named Miss Earth Water and Miss Earth Fire, respectively.
