MANILA, Philippines — Entrepreneur, public servant, athlete and former House deputy speaker Michael “Mikee’’ Romero was honored as Rising Tigers Man of the Year 2026 at an awarding ceremony held  yesterday at the Presidential Suite of The Manila Hotel.

A three-term former lawmaker, Romero has been recognized for championing reforms that promote economic growth, protect workers and expand opportunities for Filipinos through responsive and results-oriented legislation.

Beyond public service, Romero has brought honor and pride to the country through Polo Sports, where he has represented the country in international competitions and won medals for the nation, helping raise the global profile of Philippine polo. His dedication to sports excellence and athlete development has made him a respected figure both on and off the field.
