Microsoft Windows 10 support is set to end in October 2025. This means that free software updates will completely stop. This includes Windows Update, technical assistance, and security fixes won’t be available for those with Windows 10.
If you’re still using this software, your PC will still function. However, Microsoft has recommended users to upgrade to Windows 11 moving forward.
For those that haven’t gotten the update yet, Windows 11 offers a more modern experience that highlights efficiency. As per Microsoft, it’s designed to meet the needs for better security.
The company added that it’s not only easier on the eyes, but easier to use as well. Some of its features include smart recommendations when using the Start Menu and File Explorer.
There’s also the Windows 11 Control Bar, which helps users jump back into recently played or newer games. Users are also able to replace passwords with passkeys for their websites and apps (provided it’s offered/supported by said website or app).
Passkeys also work on multiple browsers. This includes Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox to name a few.
Windows 11 also offers Smart App Control, which provides users another layer of security. This works by giving permissions to apps with good reputations only.
Display-wise, it offers auto HDR. This increases the range of colors produced for both new and old games. This is complemented by the new calibration app that increases a user’s control over color, available only on Windows 11.
Lastly, Windows 11 features touch inputs to make for a better mouse-free (or keyboard-free) experience.

Communication graduate, closet cynic, and kid at heart. Duane is a rare person to find, quite literally. He often takes to himself but has proven his mettle in tech media with his quick wits. Well, the portfolio of scriptwriting, web content, and public relations help too, we suppose. As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
