It is one of the biggest operational solar plants in the whole of Region 2 under the second Green Energy Auction (GEA II) program of the Department of Energy (DOE).

This milestone underscores MGen's commitment to expanding its clean energy portfolio and contributing to the country's transition to renewable energy.

MGreen Cordon Solar is MGreen's second GEA II project completed ahead of schedule, demonstrating its efficiency and expertise in executing renewable energy projects.

This new solar power plant will supply clean and reliable electricity to over 53,000 households, supporting the DOE's goal of increasing the share of renewable energy in the power mix to 35 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2040.

"We're proud to share this milestone with you — the people of Cordon — as we switch on our solar power plant that's completed four months ahead of schedule. We want to show that economic progress, and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand," MGreen president and CEO Dennis Jordan said.

DOE Assistant Secretary Mario Marasigan emphasized the multiple benefits of the project.

Isabela board member Victor Dy said that the solar power plant is more than just an infrastructure.

"It is a statement of commitment to clean energy and a sustainable future for generations to come," he said.

This is MGen's seventh solar power plant in the Philippines after MGreen BulacanSol, Nueva Solar, MGreen Baras Solar, MGreen Bongabon Solar, MGreen SP Calatagan and MGreen SP Tarlac.
