METROBANK Foundation (MBFI) President Aniceto Sobrepeña was conferred the Magis of Rotary Lifetime Distinction Award by the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME), its highest honor, on June 10, 2025, at Club Filipino, San Juan City.

The award recognizes individuals whose life’s work embodies Magis — the pursuit of greater excellence in service and principled leadership for the greater good.

Sobrepeña was honored for his 30 years of steadfast leadership at MBFI, where he has advanced excellence recognition programs and initiated impactful projects in education, the arts and social development.

He also strengthened MBFI’s flagship program, the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos, the country’s premier career-service award honoring exemplary teachers, soldiers, and police officers.

MBFI Executive Vice President Philip Francisco Dy was also recognized with the Presidential Award for Vocational Excellence, while MBFI was awarded the Magis of Rotary: Award for Exemplary Partnership.

Beyond recognition, MBFI empowers students and educators and partners with organizations to implement transformative programs in health, education, livelihood, and disaster risk reduction.
