San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora has been re-elected as the Metro Manila Council's (MMC) president during the joint meeting between the MMC, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Friday, August 1.

“I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to MMDA Chairman Don Artes and to my fellow Metro Manila mayors for once again entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as president of the Metro Manila Council," Zamora said.

“As president of the MMC—the policy-making body of the MMDA—I reaffirm my commitment to work collaboratively with all stakeholders in advancing the general welfare and improving the quality of life of the people of Metro Manila. Together, we will continue to address pressing concerns such as traffic congestion, flooding, solid waste management, peace and order, and the urgent need for well-planned and sustainable urban development," he added.

This is the mayor's second term after being first elected in November of 2022.

He is also the co-chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC).
