Maynilad Water Services Inc. is nearing completion of its P330-million pipe replacement project in South Caloocan, aimed at improving water pressure and reducing water losses. The project involves upgrading nearly 2 kilometers of aging, leaky pipelines along General San Miguel Avenue in Sangandaan, Caloocan City. When finished, the project will boost water pressure for over 55,000 customers from 7 psi to up to 16 psi, enabling water to reach the third floor of buildings without a booster pump. This upgrade will also recover about 2.25 million liters of potable water daily, enough to meet the needs of approximately 15,000 households. ‘This initiative is part of our P11.2-billion investment in pipe replacements from 2023 to 2027, aimed at reducing water losses and improving service reliability,’ said Maynilad COO Randolph Estrellado. The project is part of Maynilad’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its water distribution network, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure long-term water security for its West Zone customers. As the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines, Maynilad serves Metro Manila’s West Zone and parts of Cavite, covering millions of customers. PHOTO FROM MAYNILAD
