Maxene Magalona shared her learnings and reflections after having "the best conversation" with her mother, Pia Magalona.
On Instagram, the actress and mental health advocate said she visited Pia and “my intuition told me to spend time with her because I genuinely missed having one-on-one time with her.”
According to Maxene, the experience “was magical.”
“We were able to speak to each other with so much calmness and mindfulness. We talked about how much we’ve learned in life and analyzed why we were the way we were when we were younger,” she said.
“We were holding space for each other without judgment or fear. It was a very healing experience for the both of us.”
She now sees her mom “for the beautiful soul that she really is," per Maxene.
“She is just like me—a human being with a big heart. We are the same but we grew up in different times," she shared.
"I used to have a lot of anger and frustration towards my childhood because I felt like things could’ve or should’ve been better. But now I’ve realized that everything is in perfect order.”
She added that she has since learned that everything had to happen the way it did because it led them to “a place of peace, presence and pure love.”
“I love you forever Mama [Pia Magalona]. I am so happy and grateful to be at peace with you," said Maxene.
In 2024, Maxene revealed that she had a “cool-off” with her family to focus on her healing journey.
She started reconnecting with Pia and her siblings that same year.
