Matet de Leon has nothing but gratitude to the fans who showed their love and support to her late mom Nora Aunor during her wake.
In a video shared by GMA Integrated News reporter Vonne Aquino, the actress said that she and her siblings appreciate the fans of her mom, also known as the Noranians, for taking the time to pay their respects to the Superstar.
"Kaming magkakapatid, gusto namin magpasalamat, galing tayo sa Mahal na Araw, they went out of their way nang bongga para makarating dito at maparating nila kay Mommy ang pagmamahal nila. Kaya we appreciate all of them, bawat isa sa kanila," Matet said.
"Puwedeng sabihin kasi artista kami, puwedeng kaplastikan, puwedeng 'Thank you, Noranians!' Pero hindi n'yo lang alam kung gaano na-appreciate ko, ng pamilya, lalong-lalong na ni Mommy ko. Alam ni Mommy kung sino kayo. Kung sino kayo na pumunta rito. Mahal kayong lahat ni Mommy," she added.
Nora passed away on Wednesday at the age of 71. According to her son Ian de Leon, she died of acute respiratory failure.
The multi-awarded actress was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022. Some of her best films can be streamed online, including "Himala," "Minsa'y Isang Gamu-gamo," and "Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos."
In the wake of Nora's passing, many celebrities took to social media to honor her memory and unimpeachable legacy.
