Martin Javier finished his first-ever marathon, the 2025 Tokyo Marathon!

The “24 Oras” Game Changer host and Kapuso sportscaster shared photos and wrote about his experience on Instagram.

“First marathon. First world major. Sub-4. But more importantly… I did my hard thing today. And I’m proud of it,” Martin said.

According to Martin, he has been through a lot just to get to the marathon.

“[Three] months ago, I was depressed, injured, and a month removed from running,” he said.

“I had to catch up with the training program with roughly 9 weeks out and absolutely 0 conditioning. That’s a short time to prepare... especially if you wanna fully send it. Still went [along] with it.. going from 0 mileage to 70km weeks.”

Martin added that he didn’t know what his condition was going into Tokyo, and was almost unable to travel because of new visa application guidelines.

“Grateful for a strong finish, despite the heavy self-talk at km 35 and cramps at 38km. Had to dig deep to survive that stretch."

He also thanked his coach for guiding him through the process, and dedicated his run to his family, who couldn't go to Japan due to visa issues.

“#TokyoMarathon2025, you were majestic,” he said.

Martin was among the personalities who participated in the Tokyo Marathon. More include Harry Styles, Tim Yap, Hannah Pangilinan, Georgina Wilson, and Isabella Daza, among others.

Congrats, Martin!
