MANILA, Philippines – Netflix released the trailer of their upcoming film Sosyal Climbers on Thursday, January 30, and it’s going to star Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings.

The film follows a real-life couple who are also scam artists — making millions off of living fake double lives by scamming the rich. In the trailer, they move into a vacant mansion in a posh neighborhood called Vineyard Hills, and are promptly given a warm welcome by their wealthy neighbors.

The couple is able to break into their neighbors’ affluent social circles, attending lavish parties and hanging out with these people. To get the P2.5 million they need, they keep up the facade to extort money from the rich they are now surrounded by.

Sosyal Climbers will premiere on Netflix on February 27.

This is one of the pair’s two projects after their cheating controversy involving Jennings’ ex-girlfriend Jam Villanueva made headlines in December 2024. Both Racal and Jennings had addressed the issue.

Racal and Jennings currently star as Gab and Tom in the action series Incognito. They had a fan event in connection with with the project in early January, their first public appearance together after the controversy.

Racal also released a song that appeared to be alluding to the backlash and public scrutiny she was subjected to because of the controversy. She said that writing the song, “Perpektong Tao,” was a healing journey for her.

“It was born from a journey through pain, regret, and the courage to seek forgiveness, a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find light,” she wrote on January 16.

Jennings and Racal first starred together as Snoop and Irene in the Netflix series Can’t Buy Me Love, where their love team captured the public’s attention, and they later became known as “SnoRene.” – Rappler.com
