The task of managing a household and raising children is becoming a collective effort shared by both parents. It’s more than just splitting chores; it’s about supporting each other, understanding each other better, and showing respect.

Celebrity couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes believe in the power of teamwork. Happily married for 10 years now, both recognize that their contributions — inside and outside the home — are equally valuable.

“For instance, we take turns in bringing our children, Zia and Ziggy, to school,” Marian shares. “If he doesn’t have a shoot or a meeting, we would drive them to school together.”

But if there’s one thing she does with flying colors — aside from acting and being a hands-on mom, of course — it’s the way she handles their household expenses and business ventures.

“Ako talaga ang in charge sa pagbayad ng bills. To stay organized, I prioritize budgeting and take advantage of financial apps to track our income and spending,” she notes. “But don’t get me wrong! Binibigay ng asawa ko ‘yung pambayad.”

According to the primetime queen, she even has a notebook where she lists down all the bills that need to be settled.

“I also set a time each week to review our financial goals and adjust as needed. This keeps me focused and ensures we’re making smart money decisions,” she proudly says.

The new face of Palawan group of companies

For Marian, growth isn’t just about personal success — it’s about making smart (money) choices, especially now as hands-on mom, loving and supportive wife, and a businesswoman.

“When I started in show business, my sole focus was my career. Mahirap sa umpisa, but with hard work and perseverance, I achieved my dreams. There were many challenges, but every step was worth it. I’m happy with where I am now, and I’m proud of my journey.”

And so, Marian didn’t have second thoughts when Palawan Group of Companies approached her to become its brand ambassador.

“I said yes right away because I believe in their mission to provide accessible financial services to every Filipino,” she stresses. “This partnership is meaningful to me. I’m honored to work with a Filipino company that aligns with my values. I truly admire how PGC continues to innovate, making financial transactions more convenient and accessible for its loyal customers.”

Marian swears by PalawanPay, an e-wallet app that allows users to send and receive remittances anytime, anywhere.

In addition to remittances, the app provides access to other financial services, including bills payments, mobile load top-ups, and scan-to-pay QR Ph codes. The app also features integrated functionality for pawn renewal, purchasing jewelry and gold items, ProtekTodo personal insurance, and claiming international remittances.

“It makes my life and other homemakers’ easier. Through the app, I can pay my bills with just one click,” she enthuses. “Even my kasambahays love it. They can easily send money to their loved ones in the province.”

PGC’s new brand ambassador Marian Rivera with PGC (from left) Lisa Lou Castro-Sabado, chief business development; Robert Ben Castro, chief operating officer; Karlo Castro, president and CEO; Angelita Castro, deputy chairman and co-founder; Bobby Castro, founder and chairman; Lilian CastroSelda, vice chairman and chief financial officer; and Korina Castro-Fernando, chief human resources officer

PGC is one of the fastest-growing financial institutions in the country. With its strength in remittance and pawning services, the company is the market leader in the industry and has over 70,000 branches, Pera Padala outlets, and PalawanPay Money Shops nationwide.

PGC president and CEO Karlo M. Castro also expressed his excitement over the partnership.

“In choosing a brand endorser, we want someone who embodies the values of trust, dedication and integrity, qualities that define our company,” notes Karlo. “As a respected actress, entrepreneur, and devoted family woman, Marian represents the very essence of what we stand for: genuine care for our sukis and Filipino families, and the desire to help every Filipino achieve financial empowerment.”

Marian’s journey, sacrifices, and dedication to her family and career mirror Palawan’s story. Like Marian, PGC started with humble beginnings, is always striving and always present for Filipinos.

PGC chairman and founder Bobby Castro shared how PGC began from a pawnshop business with only two employees (him and wife Angelita) to an empire that includes products and services such as Palawan Pawnshop, Express Pera Padala, ProtekTodo, Palawan Credit, and PalawanPay.

“Nagsimula ang Palawan Pawnshop with only P40,000 capital. Wala ng iba, wala ng nakatago. At sa pamamagitan ng tiyaga, pagpupunyagi and pag-iipon, ay napalago namin,” Castro recalls.

Palawan Group of Companies has served millions of Filipinos for years.

“And like me, Palawan continues to evolve and adapt, always offering something new while staying true to its roots. In life, growth is essential, but we must stay grounded in our core values,” Marian adds.

According to PGC marketing head Bernard Kaibigan, having a credible endorser and popular endorser like Marian Rivera is very important particularly to brands like PGC that provides/offers financial services.

“That’s because they help build trust and credibility to the brand,” he explains. “Importante din na sila mismo ay gumagamit ng products na ine-endorse nila. And we’re very happy and satisfied with what Marian brings to the table.”

Championing financial literacy

Beyond endorsing the brand, Marian hopes to inspire not just her kasambahays and fans but all Filipinos to take control of their finances.

“I always tell my kasambahays and fans to manage their money wisely,” she notes. “Through my partnership with Palawan, I hope to inspire more Filipinos to make informed financial decisions for their families.”

Among PGC’s various services, Marian finds Palawan Express Pera Padala impactful.

“It’s a reliable, fast, and affordable way for families to send and receive money — especially for OFWs who support their loved ones in the Philippines. It helps families stay connected,” enthuses Marian. “May insurance coverage package din ang PGC: Palawan ProtekTodo. Sa halagang P100 may insurance ka na. Pwede mo ding kuhaan ng insurance ang buong pamilya.”

Whether it’s sending money, securing loans, or making payments through PalawanPay, Marian believes PGC’s services help ease financial burdens and empower families to focus on what truly matters — their well-being and future.

With its new tagline, “Subukan Na at Patunayan! I-Palawan Mo na ‘Yan!” and Marian Rivera-Dantes as its new brand ambassador, PGC continues to champion financial empowerment and community support — proving once again why it remains one of the most trusted names in the country.
