MANILA, Philippines — Marian Rivera shut down speculations that her marriage with fellow actor Dingdong Dantes is on the rocks after a blind item involving a high-profile celebrity couple went viral.

Earlier this week a blind item circulated on social media claiming that a "power couple" was facing relationship issues due to one spouse's infidelity.

Given the rare number of local celebrity couples that could fit the bill, some Filipinos speculated the couple in question were Marian and Dingdong.

Such talks were immediately dismissed by Marian herself after being contacted by entertainment columnist Rose Garcia, as the latter recounted on the January 8 episode of the "Marites University" online show.

"Ni-message ko si Yan. Sabi ko, 'I'm sure aware ka sa blind item kung saan sa comments section kayong dalawa ni Dong ang binabanggit,'" shared Rose.

The entertainment writer said Marian called her up to check in on her, then presented on the show a photo of the couple smiling closely together, a picture taken during a football practice session of their son Sixto.

"'Ate, jusme. Ano ba 'yang mga blind item na 'yan?'," Rose relayed what Marian told her before adding herself, "Parang sanay na sila kasi parang every year, lalo na raw 'pag January, palaging may ganyang chika."

Marian and Dingdong celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary last December 30. They are also parents to daughter Zia.
