The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise has been around since 1999 with American skateboarding star Tony Hawk being the face of the game. The game tasks players with the goal of getting the highest score possible through combos of ollies, aerials, flips, and other skateboarding tricks.

Published by Activision and now being developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, the latest installment will be launched on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, Steam, Battle.net, Microsoft PC Store, and Nintendo Switch.

The game is primarily a remake of two older sequels of the franchise. What’s new is that the game offers a larger roster of playable characters which include new skateboarders who have hit the scenes and tournaments in recent years.

Didal, a skater from Cebu City, made her iconic debut at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, inspiring athletes and audiences alike with her upbeat attitude and sportsmanship, and even getting to meet Tony Hawk himself at the venue.

The game also boasts an even wider range of in-game skating locations, an expanded “Create-A-Skater” and “Create-A-Park” modes, and fresh playstyles to try out.

“My advice to other kids who just tried skateboarding or like even other sports, just have fun and don’t forget why you started,” Didal said.

The game will be out on July 11 and is available for pre-ordering at P3,000 for the base game and P4,200 for the digital deluxe edition. – Rappler.com
