MANILA, Philippines — The late chef Margarita Forés will be honored in a series of services next week, with one day dedicated to a public viewing.
A social media post by Cibo — Forés' iconic restaurant — detailed the schedule of services. On Monday, Feb. 17, Forés's hospitality teams from will lead the service at Bahay na Puti, or the Araneta ancestral mansion located inside Araneta City in Quezon City.
To allow her team to participate in the tribute, Cibo announced that it will be operating with a limited staff on Feb. 17. Forés' other restaurants, Lusso by Margarita Forés and Grace Park Dining, will also open later that day, at 5 p.m.
The following day, Feb. 18, a gathering for family and friends will be held at the same venue.
Finally, on Feb. 19, the public is welcome to celebrate the life and legacy of Forés. Public viewing is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.

The post also encouraged donations to ICanServe Foundation Inc. and Cara Welfare Philippines Inc. in lieu of flowers. Forés was a cancer survivor and a cat rescuer.
On Feb. 11, Forés' son Amada announced the sudden passing of his mother. She was in Hong Kong at the time of her death.
