MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is headed to New York, United States for the United Nations (UN) General Assembly this March, the Palace announced on Monday, February 9. 

The working visit will be from March 8 to March 11, according to Malacañang. 

"Dadalo si Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa opening ng 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. Magbibigay rin ang Pangulo ng mensahe sa gaganaping special session ng General Assembly ng United Nations. Makikipagpulong din ang Pangulo sa ilang opisyal ng UN," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said. 

(President Marcos Jr. is headed to the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. The President will also deliver a message during an upcoming special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. The President will also meet with several officials of the UN.) 

Marcos has made five visits to the United States, becoming the foreign foreign country that he has visited the most during his administration. 

The president's last visit to the US was in July 2025, meeting with President Donald Trump. The two presidents spoke at length about the tariffs that the US was about to impose on the Philippines.

Philippine Ambassador Jose Romualdez said Marcos had also invited Trump to attend the ASEAN Summit in the Philippines later this year.
