MANILA, Philippines — For allegedly spreading false medical information about President Marcos, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed complaints for cyberlibel against former broadcaster Jay Sonza and online personality Jeffrey Celiz.

The NBI said screenshots of online posts and surveillance of YouTube videos showed the use of unverified medical reports to question the President’s capacity to govern.

The NBI recommended to the Department of Justice the filing of complaints for cyberlibel and violation of Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code against Sonza ad Celiz.

Social media personality Jack Argota has been summoned to appear at the NBI tomorrow over the alleged circulation of Marcos’ fake medical records.

NBI spokesman Palmer Mallari said Argota was initially scheduled to face the Cybercrime Division on Feb. 13, but requested for a reset through email.

Aside from Argota, Sonza and other personalities are under investigation for allegedly spreading a fabricated medical certificate of the President.

A medical certificate regarding Marcos’ health condition circulated online, which Malacañang condemned as “fabricated and malicious.”

In January, the St. Luke’s Medical Center denied the accuracy of the results of an abnormal CT scan supposedly done on Marcos, who has been diagnosed with diverticulitis.
