President Marcos, with First Lady Liza Marcos, meets with Rhodora Alcaraz Tuñacao yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, during the launch of NAIA’s new facilities. Tuñacao is the overseas Filipino worker who saved a three-month-old baby from the high-rise fires in Tai Po, Hong Kong last month.

MANILA, Philippines — An e-gates system and other amenities were launched at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 yesterday, with President Marcos – who led the launch – assuring travelers of speedier immigration process and more comfortable travel experience.
“Passengers can now clear in as little as 20 seconds. Not 20 minutes, 20 seconds – with further improvements expected as the system continues to learn and begins to stabilize,” the President said in his remarks.
With the President during the launch were First Lady Liza Marcos, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, Pasay City Rep. Antonino Calixto, Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano and officials of the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. led by its president Ramon Ang.
Marcos also graced the opening of the All-Filipino Food Hall and Mezzanine Food Hall that offer travelers better spaces to rest and dine and of the Dignitaries Lounge, which he said reflects the Filipino values of warmth, respect and hospitality.
The President also led the launch of the Medical Tourism Concierge Area designed to assist patients with efficiency and compassion.
“This is proof that we respect every traveler’s time and value their dignity – because good service is the right of every Filipino,” he said.
The Chief Executive also noted the Department of Tourism’s introduction of the Transit Tour initiative, which offers international passengers with long layovers an opportunity to explore the country. — Rudy Santos
