President Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos prepare a meal in a video posted on the President’s official Facebook page on Friday.
MANILA, Philippines — Taking a brief break from running the country, President Marcos whipped out his cooking skills for an anniversary dinner with his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos on Friday.
“Anniversary dinner, made the old-fashioned way – with love,” the 68-year-old Marcos wrote on Facebook, as the First Couple marked their 33rd wedding anniversary.
Marcos said the menu included roast chicken, vegetable soup, salad and pasta.
“This is our anniversary dinner,” the Chief Executive said, assisted in the kitchen by their youngest son William Vincent. The President was seen cutting tomatoes and grinding pepper for the pasta.
“See the difference with regular pepper and toasted? It smells so different. I toasted it first before grinding it up,” Marcos said after asking his wife to smell it.
In a separate Facebook post, the First Lady praised her husband, saying: “Agriculture may be your thing…but tonight, you made this wife even happier.”
“Happy 33rd to the man who doesn’t just promise – he delivers,” Liza wrote.
The First Couple tied the knot at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy on April 17, 1993. They have three children, House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, Joseph Simon and William Vincent.
