When asked which Filipino celebrity he would want to work with, Manny Jacinto surprised Boy Abunda by naming artists like Lea Salonga and Dolphy.
Filipino-born Canadian actor Manny Jacinto is currently in the Philippines to promote his newest film, “Freakier Fridays,” the sequel to the 2003 Lindsay Lohan-starrer film “Freaky Fridays.”
On Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Friday, August 8, King of Talk Boy Abunda took the chance to ask Manny about his visit to the Philippines in the past. He revealed that since his father's family is still in the country, they would visit from time to time, and his last visit was two Christmases ago.
“The last time we were here was two Christmases ago, I was able to bring my parents and also my wife's parents to the Philippines and just explore. Because they always usually come back to see family, but I wanted to show them other parts of the Philippines as well,” Manny said.
Since the actor is already in the Philippines, Tito Boy took the opportunity to ask Manny if he's willing to do a movie in the country, to which he answered, “Yeah!”
“I think the actual goal is I'm trying to write and create stories that could hopefully, actually be filmed in the Philippines as well. So yeah, both, whether to act here or create stories about here,” Manny shared.
When asked who he wanted to work with on a project, Manny admitted that there are a lot of Filipino artists he wants to do a project with, but one actor he wants to work with is theater actress and singer Lea Salonga.
Manny admitted that he did not know Lea personally, “I mean, maybe we've talked on social media, possibly, like friends of friends, but we haven't gotten to really speak to one another face to face.”
Aside from Lea, Manny admitted that he would've loved to work with Comedy King Dolphy if he were still alive, sharing that he grew up watching his films.
“I think he was a pretty big part of my childhood, watching those Filipino movies, and I think being in the comedy space helped a lot,” Manny said.
