The Philippines’ digital entertainment scene is still developing, with new platforms changing how Filipinos enjoy entertainment and leisure. A company that has solidified its position at the front of this change is DigiPlus Interactive Corp. They are honored not just for their significant contributions to the digital entertainment industry but also for supporting Filipino champions who continue to uplift the nation.
At the recently concluded Newsmakers of the Year Awards 2025, DigiPlus partnered with the Manila Bulletin to honor one of the nation’s celebrated athletes, Carlos Yulo, a Filipino gymnast who took home two gold medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Manila Bulletin honors individuals, groups, and projects that have significantly impacted society with the Newsmakers of the Year Awards each year. DigiPlus presents itself as a supporter of this initiative, which is firmly committed to raising diverse industries, nurturing talent, and honoring innovation.
Carlos Yulo’s award as one of the Newsmakers of the Year is just one example of how DigiPlus has been instrumental in promoting sports and Filipino athletes as they have always supported innovative sports ventures for a cause. In August 2024, together with the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. (PADS), DigiPlus Interactive has built the foundation for the soon-to-open PLUS Center for Adaptive Sports and Physical Rehabilitation. The P2 million facility will be constructed at Mandaue City, Cebu’s Pajara Park, a developing public sports and wellness center. One important step in enabling Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to flourish and pursue possibilities in sports, health, and employment is access to the PLUS Center’s facilities and services.
Yulo demonstrated his remarkable abilities on the international scene and obtained a well-earned place on the podium at the 2024 Paris Olympics, by winning double Gold victory medals representing the Philippines with pride. His accomplishments, which included medals at the World Gymnastics Championships and other esteemed competitions, further solidified his place among the Philippines’ best athletes. Yulo is indeed a worthy recipient of the Newsmakers of the Year award for his triumphs resulting from his dedication and tenacity.
DigiPlus’ dedication to promoting Filipino athletes and cultivating a vibrant sports culture is reflected in its support of Yulo.
As the company continues to spearhead the digital entertainment revolution, its collaboration with the Manila Bulletin Newsmakers of the Year Awards demonstrates that a commitment to elevate and inspire the communities it serves is a necessary component of success.
