MANILA, Philippines — Three people, including two children, died while another was injured in Quezon City yesterday after a man set a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) store on fire.
Police said Joross Improgo, 21, torched the LPG store in Barangay Pasong Tamo at around 3:50 a.m.
Probers said Improgo, who works as a helper in the store, was drunk when he had a confrontation with the owner, his uncle Adriano Leonaras.
Witnesses said they heard explosions followed by a fire, which razed two adjacent houses.
The charred remains of the victims, Mary Jane Orano, 49, and two children aged nine and 11, were found in the house.
Improgo and Leonaras were brought to a hospital for treatment of third-degree burns.
Police are preparing charges of arson with homicide against the suspect.
