THE Malaysia Friendship Open Golf 2025 concluded successfully on November 22 at Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Pampanga, celebrating the enduring ties between Malaysia and the Philippines. Organized by the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Malaysia, the event served as a platform for sportsmanship and philanthropy.
This year’s tournament held special significance following Malaysia’s recent conclusion of its 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship and the handover to the Philippines in October. The event underscored the continued spirit of cooperation between the two nations, with all proceeds directed toward charitable programs and urgent disaster response efforts for vulnerable communities.
The 2025 edition saw a surge in support, securing 63 sponsors—a significant increase from the previous year. A total of 288 golfers from the Philippines, Malaysia, and across the globe participated, highlighting the event’s growing appeal and the region’s potential for sports tourism.
Organizers credited the overwhelming support from the business, government, and diplomatic sectors for the tournament’s success. By achieving its fundraising goals, the Malaysia Friendship Open reaffirmed its mission to foster goodwill and strengthen people-to-people ties across the region.
