A magnitude 3.5 earthquake hit off the coast of Socorro, Surigao del Norte, on Sunday night, July 27, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

According to the agency, the quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at 8:34 p.m.

The quake’s epicenter was located 19 kilometers south 51° east of Socorro. 

It had a depth of 10 kilometers, it added.

Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks are expected following the tremor.
