MANILA, Philippines — Singer-songwriters Marion Raven and Marit Larsen will meet their Pinoy fans again and perform their well-loved songs in a two-night concert, “M2M: The Better Endings Tour 2025,” on May 1 and 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.

After that, the two, also known as M2M, treat their fans in Cebu and Davao on May 3 and 4 at the SMX Convention Center Davao and the Waterfront Hotel Cebu.

Marion and Marit are thrilled to touch base with their followers in these sides of the Philippines.

“Yeah, we’ve never been there before,” answered Marion when she and Marit were asked if it’s their first time to visit and perform in these cities during a chat with The STAR. “The last time (we were in the Philippines), we only went to Manila. So, we can’t wait to see more of the Philippines and you know, hopefully have a little more time to see the country. I think, if we’re lucky, we maybe have one day off in Cebu.”

Available YouTube clips and videos show their performance at the SM Megamall in 2000 for the Shades of Purple album and a noontime variety show guesting in 2001 for another album.

“I think we do,” said Marit of the possibility of having a window for appreciating the sights and sounds of these places, and recalled in their previous visits that “we didn’t really step outside of the interview room, sort of, it was all work and no play. So, we’re really hoping to, and now that we’re already grown-ups, we get to decide and we hope really to discover the places that we travel to in a different way than what we did 20 years ago.”

Marit also quickly asked for any tips when they travel to Cebu and Davao and what one could say is that these cities are lovely, including the food, the culture and the people.

Asked if they have any plans to “regroup” and release new songs at this point in their music and recording careers, Marit said, “Well, time will show,” while Marion added, “We don’t know yet. Now we’re doing, you know, the tour and the concert, let’s see maybe if it will inspire us to write again.”

Given their popularity and success as a Norwegian pop duo, what pieces of advice can they give to young singer-songwriters in navigating the music industry and nurturing their creativity to compose new songs?

“First of all, stay true to yourself and don’t let, you know, people tell you who to be, you know, ‘coz they can be like ‘Oh, this is popular. You should do this’ and you have to stay true to yourself,” said Marion.

Marit, for her part, shared, “And also on the flipside of that, I think when you are a writer and when you are a young artist, you are going to evolve really quickly, and you’re going to discover new truths about yourself all the time. So, don’t feel like you have to stay in, like, the box that you first made your debut and like you’re going through all of that, and that’s part of what makes you human and what makes you a good writer and but absolutely, like, don’t let anybody tell you that you’re in a hurry because you always feel like you are when you’re young, but like you only have one chance to make your debut album.”

She continued on by sharing the importance of taking one’s time, “like don’t feel like you have to throw every new song out online and like every week to get new responses from your followers.”

And both artists agreed to have fun, which is the most important thing, said Marit, with a thought from Marion to “make sure you have good people around you.”

As they revealed in the previous article, Marion and Marit will do their hits such as The Day You Went Away, Don’t Say You Love, Mirror, Mirror and Pretty Boy and complement them with new songs from their solo careers.
