MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned the driver of a pickup truck caught slapping a man in front of his scared daughter in a video that has gone viral online.

The video showed the man pushing a cart along a road in Barangay San Roque in Antipolo City when the truck appeared.

It was not clear if the truck was damaged, but a post over GMA Public Affairs showed the video uploader trying to calm the truck driver down.

LTO chief Markus Lacanilao condemned the incident, as he ordered the agency’s intelligence and investigation division to require the driver to explain why his license should not be revoked.

Pending investigation, the license is suspended for 90 days and the pickup truck placed under alarm.

Lacanilao assured the public that such behavior on the road will not be tolerated and that justice will be pursued.

He added that failure to submit an explanation by Dec. 17 would mean that the driver is waiving his right to be heard.
