MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific have canceled several flights to and from the Middle East scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, due to the ongoing security crisis in the region.

In an advisory issued at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, the Philippine Airlines said it scrapped the following March 3 flights: 

  • PR 685 Doha–Manila
  • PR 684 Manila–Doha
  • PR 654/655 Manila–Riyadh–Manila

PAL said the cancellations were made “in view of ongoing developments and in the interest of ensuring the safety of our passengers, crew and ground personnel.”

The flag carrier also cancelled additional Middle East flights scheduled for March 4 and March 5.

For March 4, PAL cancelled:

  • PR 685 Doha–Manila
  • PR 684 Manila–Doha
  • PR 658/659 Manila–Dubai–Manila

For March 5, the airline cancelled:

  • PR 685 Doha–Manila

Cebu Pacific Dubai flight canceled

Cebu Pacific earlier announced the cancellation of its March 3 Dubai service.

In an advisory issued as of 9 a.m. March 2, the budget carrier said it cancelled:

  • 5J 14/15 Manila–Dubai–Manila (March 3)

The airline cited the “continuing and evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East.”

Cebu Pacific said it continues to monitor developments and assess flight operations in the region.

Rebooking. Cebu Pacific is offering free rebooking and Travel Fund conversion for passengers who wish to postpone flights to and from:

  • Dubai (March 1–8)
  • Riyadh (March 1–9)

PAL did not detail passenger options in its March 3 advisory but said the cancellations were issued to ensure safety.
