Liezel Lopez admitted that she has harbored resentment towards her parents.
On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Sparkle star opened up on her relationship with her mom and dad.
"Nagtanim ako sa kanila ng galit talaga. Ayokong magalit pero nagagalit ako kasi they didn't learn from what happened when they had me," Liezel said, getting emotional.
Although she didn't give any details about their fallout, the actress said that she's trying to explain to them how to be better parents to her younger siblings.
"Kung sakaling hindi nila maibigay sa akin at least [bumawi] sila to my brothers. I know na parang nag-ii-struggle pa rin sila with that," Liezel said.
She also said that she finds it difficult to talk about why she's distant from her parents, because she doesn't want her words to be fueled by resentment.
"I think it's really bad na magtanim ng galit to your parents kasi 'yung nga ang sabi nila na pag bali-baliktarin mo man ang mundo, parents mo pa rin sila," Liezel said.
According to Liezel, although she is estranged from her parents, she still tries to support them by helping her younger brothers.
"So ako po ang nag-shoshoulder po sa mga kapatid ko para matulungan ko sila. So dahil ganoon 'yung dynamics namin, I can only love them from afar which is bad but I have to accept na we can't really be together kasi hindi nila ako pinapakinggan bilang anak," she said.
Liezel is among the cast members of "Samahan ng mga Makasalanan," which stars David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, Joel Torre, Chariz Solomon, Buboy Villar, and more.
Directed by Benedict Mique, the comedy film will premiere in cinemas nationwide on April 19. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
