Lenten season 2025: Metro Manila restaurants with meat-free offerings

For the Catholic majority of the Philippines, the Lenten season is a time for reflection, prayer, and abstinence. People often go meatless on Fridays, prompting restaurants to adjust their offerings to respect and accommodate the needs of their customers. 

We are in the thick of Lent, with Holy Week just a few weeks ago. If you're looking for sustenance beyond your usual Friday munggo, here’s a list of restaurants in Metro Manila with Lenten specials.

8Cuts

For a limited time only, 8Cuts is serving a shrimp sandwich (a.k.a. the Shrimp ‘Wich) for Lent. It features a crisp and juicy whole shrimp patty with pickled jalapeño and jalapeño ranch sauce for that hint of fire. Add a side of Oh-Rings or Skinny Fries to complete your meal, yes?

Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is rolling out a Kreamy Kani Supreme Pizza offering for Lent, which features generous toppings of Kani and Kani-stuffed crust for extra indulgence.

Manam

Manam brings its signature twist to the Lenten season with its Sizzling Bangus Belly Sisig, House Squid Sisig, and House Tofu Sisig, alongside the beloved Shiitake and Tokwa Kare-kare.

For something crunchy and tangy, the Manam Triangle exclusive Crispy Asim Sarap Tawilis makes its debut across all Manam shops just for the season.

Din Tai Fung

Seafood takes center stage at Din Tai Fung this season.

For Lent, diners can feast on Fried Shrimp in Vermicelli and Garlic Sauce, Taiwanese Cracked Black Pepper Shrimp and new solo meal options like the Hot Prawn Salad and Salted Egg Yolk Prawn BB Meal.

Ooma

Ooma introduces fiery fresh picks to the menu in time for Lent, including Hamachi Sashimi, Oyster Tempura, and the Hamachi Hand Roll. For heartier bites, the Tendon and Bara Chirashi Don round out the Lenten specials.

Pancit Pancitan

For those craving noodles, Pancit Pancitan delivers with its signature Pancit Squid Negra, which comes with a rich garlic aioli for the perfect balance of umami and zest.

Shakey’s

For a limited time only, Shakey’s offers a Garlic Butter Shrimp N’ Scallop pie, a creamy seafood delight featuring succulent garlic butter shrimp, scallops, and bell peppers in a bed of white sauce.
