Lee Dong-wook and Jeon So-nee at a table read of "The Facade of Love"
Netflix
MANILA, Philippines — Production has begun on new Korean drama "The Facade of Love" at Netflix headlined by Lee Dong-wook and Jeon So-nee.
Helming the project is Mo Wan-il, who gained recognition for his previous directorial outing "The World of the Married" which was an adaptation of British thriller "Doctor Foster."
"The series asks what happens when one night outside of your normal routine cracks open everything you thought was solid," the streaming platform teased. "How attraction turns into consequence, and how one choice can ripple through a marriage, a family and a life carefully built on appearances."
Dong-wook and So-nee play two individuals who spend an unforgettable night together in an unfamiliar place with the expectation of life going back to normal upon returning to Korea.
However, their connection follows them and cracks begin to surface, also affecting the lives of Dong-wook's character's wife and brother-in-law.

Taking on the script is "The Matchmakers" and "Sell Your Haunted House" screenwriter Ha Su-jin.
Dong-wook made his breakthrough in the series "My Girl," and even reunited with his co-star Lee Da-hae a decade later for "Hotel King."
Recent projects include "Tale of the Nine Tailed," "A Shop for Killers," "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," and just last year "The Divorce Insurance" and "The Nice Guy."
Meanwhile, So-nee is best known for "Our Blooming Youth," "Parasyte: The Grey," and "Melo Movie."
