Kyline Alcantara shared her unique beauty and travel experiences in South Korea during her three-year journey as the Korean Tourism Organization's (KTO) honorary tourism ambassador.
During the “K-Beauty Glow Up!” event at BGC on Friday, Kyline recalled how it felt for her every time she visited the country.
“Everytime I go to Korea, it's such a memorable experience. I always say the word ‘magical’ every time that I go to Korea because the sun is different, the weather is different, the fashion is different, the culture also is different,” she said.
“Koreans, they’re so sweet, so charming, and they’re also beautiful… super warm,” she added.
Kyline also shared that while she had visited several places in Korea during her time as ambassador, her favorite place is the city of Seoul.
“Seoul is my favorite because everything is there, the culture… I always say culture because the reason why I travel is I want to know the country's culture. (1:38) So yeah, Seoul, because everything's there. Samgyup is there, all of our favorites are there. The beauty and wellness is there.”
The actress was also presented with a certificate of appreciation by KTO Philippines' director Park Younghee during the event on Friday.
Meanwhile, Kyline also recalled being part of the 2024 K-Beauty Festival in South Korea.
“Going to the Korea Beauty Festival… I've met executives there, KTO executives, and also we visited the KTO headquarters in Seoul. So, maybe that's a core memory because it's such a great privilege to be sitting alongside those big names. At that time, kabado ako (I was nervous) but they’re so sweet,” Kyline said.
“I've tried the balm also, the color analysis. That's one of my favorites… Apparently, I'm cool-toned,” she added. “There’s a certain healing [in Korean beauty], it is a journey. Everything that I did in Korean beauty helped me right now.”
Kyline was first named honorary tourism ambassador by the Korean Tourism Organization in 2022.
Her role as ambassador was extended for another year in 2024.
Meanwhile, Kyline revealed that she was bound to return to South Korea with fellow GMA Kapuso Actress Barbie Forteza this coming May to shoot “Beauty Empire.”
“Ang dami na naming plano ni Barbie. Plano namin mag-samgyup, plano niya tumakbo — baka samahan ko lang siya, lakad lang ako,” she said.
