For the first time in years, the "Queen of All Media" Kris Aquino is back into the public eye after attending the Stargate People Asia People of the Year 2025 awards on Tuesday night. She was there to support her close friend, renowned Filipino fashion designer Michael Leyva who was one of the awardees.
Her presence coincided with the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
"What a perfect coming out," Aquino, 54, told members of the media.
Dressed in a bright pink blazer over a yellow shirt, paired with a floral skirt and a yellow face mask, she was also accompanied by her youngest son, Bimby.
When asked why Leyva holds a special place in her life, Aquino said, "He's acting like the dad to Bim and the dad to kuya. He's more than just a friend. He's like the younger brother I never had. There are people who say na 'I will be there for you' or 'maaasahan mo ako.' But Michael has proven that so many times and in so many ways."

Despite the warm reception at the event, Aquino gave a candid response when asked about her well-being, stating, "I'm not so okay."
Meanwhile, her talent management company, Cornerstone, also shared photos from the event, and captioned "The Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, makes a wonderful return to the limelight by supporting Michael Leyva at the Asia People Year tonight! #KrisAquino #CornerstoneArtist."
Aquino had been in the United States since 2022 undergoing treatment for multiple autoimmune diseases before making her official return to the Philippines in September 2024.
Her last public appearance was in March 2022 during a grand rally in Tarlac province for former Vice President Leni Robredo who was campaigning for Presidency.
Earlier this month, she revealed that her health remains fragile. She disclosed that she is still "not fit to work", struggling with being underweight, and is currently battling seven autoimmune diseases: Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, EGPA (a rare and life-threatening form of Vasculitis), Systemic Sclerosis, Lupus/SLE, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Additionally, she has been experiencing symptoms linked to Fibromyalgia, Polymyositis, and Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.
