MANILA, Philippines — Booking platform Klook has put up a stand-alone kiosk at the Clark International Airport, the first of its kind in the Philippines, for easy access when booking attractions, dining and stays.

Klook yesterday said it has signed a collaboration with Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD) to expand the tourism potential of Pampanga and Central Luzon.

Clark airport, operated and maintained by LIPAD, will host the first airport lounge of Klook in the Philippines and just the fourth globally.

The Klook Kiosk and Lounge will serve as a one-stop hub for travelers landing in Clark, giving them the opportunity to make last-minute bookings. The kiosk also enables tourists flying out of Clark to add activities to their itinerary before takeoff.

Klook general manager for the Philippines Michelle Ho said the platform has decided to launch its first Philippine lounge in Clark to support its expansion push. Clark is aiming to attract more travelers to fly out of it, as it connects to new destinations with the arrival of more airlines.

“With a growing user base in the Philippines and an increasing number of passengers flying from  Clark, we are always looking for ways to provide travelers with access to unmatched experiences for their trip,” Ho said.

LIPAD president and CEO Noel Manankil said the entry of Klook in Clark bolsters the airport’s viability as a landing point for both domestic and international guests.

“The newly launched Klook Kiosk and Lounge plays a valuable role in supporting our goal [of] providing travelers with a welcoming space that enhances their overall journey through the Clark International Airport,” Manankil said.

For the year, LIPAD expects passenger volume in Clark to reach at least three million. It projects the airport to recover to the pre-pandemic high of four million by 2027.

Clark will benefit from the looming ban on turboprops at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Since last year, Clark has started receiving some of the relocating turboprop flights, as NAIA gears up to handle solely jetliners to maximize the capacity of its single runway.
