MANILA, Philippines — Gold Medalist, the agency handling embroiled Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, reiterated it would take legal action for any "false information" hurled at its artist.

Soo-hyun has been in the headlines for well over a year now in relation to the death of fellow actor Kim Sae-ron in February 2025, which authorities have ruled as suicide.

Allegations were hurled at Soo-hyun for allegedly dating Sae-ron when she was still a minor. The police have since dismissed such charges.

Kim Se-eui, the individual behind YouTube channel HoverLab, was arrested earlier this year for fabricating screenshots and an audio file he submitted as evidence for the alleged inappropriate relationship.

Korean entertainment outlet Dispatch published a report indicating that Soo-hyun was not the individual sending messages to an underage Sae-ron in 2016 but a different unnamed celebrity.

Authorities pointed to Soo-hyun and the other celebrity using different grammar and words in conversations during forensic examination and analysis of the messages.

Following the release of Dispatch's report, Gold Medalist released a statement indicating the continued presence of false claims that Soo-hyun dated Sae-ron when she was underage.

The agency reiterated that the authorities concluded the investigation on the matter when the charges could not be substantiated and thus did not refer the case for prosecution.

"It has been confirmed that the series of claims raised against Soo-hyun lack factual and objective grounds," said the label. "This matter is no longer at the stage of an unverified debate, but is a falsehood proven through official investigation results."

Gold Medalist noted that Se-eui is awaiting trial for defemation charges and warned that anyone referring to Se-eui claims in any form "constitutes an additional unlawful act that perpetuates and magnifies the criminal harm."

It also warned against amplifying, reproducing, and distributing such claims "as if they were true" and vowed to take all possible legal measures "to ensure that severe punishment and accountability are imposed."

Sae-ron was best known for starring in "Bloodhounds," "The Man From Nowhere" and "Secret Healer." Soo-hyun, meanwhile, is best known for "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," "The Producers," "One Ordinary Day," and "Queen of Tears," which was his last credited project before the initial allegations blew up.

He had been set to appear in "Knock-Off" last year opposite Jo Bo-ah but its release was pulled because of the controversy. Soo-hyun recently made his showbiz comeback through a fan meet in the Philippines earlier this month.
