MANILA, Philippines — A 2024 video featuring Kim Chiu is making the rounds online following the actress filing a complaint against her sister Lakambini for qualified theft.

Kim sued Lakambini last December 2 citing "serious financial discrepancies discovered" in their business operations.

Kim's legal representatives said the complaint covered the current fiscal year, adding that Lakambini was part of the management of the business.

While the fiscal year in question is 2025, many Internet users revived a video uploaded on Kim's YouTube channel back in 2024 when a feng shui expert warned her about robbery and trust issues.

The video upload was Kim's feature for a forecast on the Chinese New Year Zodiac, which was the Year of the Wooden Dragon in 2024.

Kim and Lakambini met with feng shui expert Johnson Chua, who gave his predictions on what lay ahead for individuals born during the Year of the Dragon and that year's lucky signs (born in the Years of the Rat, Pig, Ox, Tiger, and Goat).

The host-actress was born in 1990, the Year of the Horse, which according to Johnson was a not-so-lucky sign.

"Ano 'yon?" Kim immediately asked, while Lakambini added, "Ay, nakakakaba. Ayaw ko naman niyan. Eto na naman."

Johnson said that those under the Horse sign have a robbery star in their chart, which he explained could be robbery of not just money but also trust.

"Anong tiwala ang mananakaw sa'kin?" Kim said, just as Johnson added that she should be wary of traitors and backfighters. This prompted Kim to quip the year ahead would be full of trust issues.

Kim admitted in a statement that the decision to sue Lakambini was a difficult one and "one of the most painful steps I have ever taken in my life."

"As many know, I built my business ventures — with hard work, passion, and trust in the people I love. Unfortunately, substantial amounts connected to my business assets were found missing," Kim said.

"These discoveries forced me to take formal action to protect not just my company, but also the livelihoods of the people who work with me and the integrity of everything I have built."

Kim said she was choosing transparency, responsibility, and accountability not just for herself but also for her brand and her supportive community. She asked the public for understanding and respect as her family navigates the issue. — Video from Kim Chiu's YouTube channel
