CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — After hiding for more than 20 years, a man wanted for a ransom kidnapping case was arrested in a joint military and police operation in Opol, Misamis Oriental yesterday.
Maj. Joan Navarro, Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 10 spokesperson, said the suspect, identified only as Tinyente Preacher Jacob, is listed as the most wanted person in the province.
The suspect was involved in the kidnapping of a Filipino-Pakistani businessman in in Makati City on May 24, 2007. The victim was released on June 3, 2007 after the payment of P2 million.
The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group later found the victim along Garcia Street in Makati City.
