Julia Barretto reacts to claims she ordered Camiguin sites closure for shoot

Julia Barretto is seeking legal advice over claims that she ordered the temporary closure of Mantigue Island in Camiguin for a photo shoot.

On Facebook, Julia clarified, " I was not involved in any decisions regarding closures. The coordination and management of the locations were entirely under the jurisdiction of the local government. I was only informed that certain areas would be momentarily closed during the shoot, which I understood as part of their commitment to ensuring the success of their tourism initiatives. To assume that I had the authority to dictate such decisions is both unfair and misleading."

The actress-content creator further explained that she would not tolerate misinformation that misrepresents her character or the purpose of the project.

"Furthermore, I take this matter seriously and am currently seeking legal advice regarding the spread of false and misleading information, including a manipulated TikTok video with fake audio that aims to misrepresent me," Julia continued.

The actress also wrote a message for the individual accusing her, "I hope neither you nor anyone in your life would have to experience the kind of unfounded attack and cruel words you have directed at me without having knowledge of what has transpired. Words have weight, and spreading misinformation can cause real harm."

In addition, Julia noticed that the netizen edited their original post.

She commented, "We've noticed an attempt to revise the original post by[the individual], which had already been put on record. Revising it now, while adding further misinformation and shifting the blame onto my team of four--assuming they had control over coordination--is incorrect."

She emphasized that this only "further proves a lack of knowledge and understanding about the trip. Spreading misinformation on top of misinformation only adds to the damage already done."

Julia Barretto previously visited several spots in Camiguin for a promotional travel shoot.

However, there were claims that many tourists experienced inconvenience as several spots were temporarily closed without notice. The production reportedly ran an hour longer than planned, forcing many tourists to reschedule their trips or cancel them altogether to catch their flights.

This situation sparked controversy and led to accusations of Julia's involvement in the closures, which she has since clarified on social media.
