Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson have ended their relationship.
The former couple have been surrounded by breakup rumors recently, and the split was confirmed by Star Magic on Thursday.
Here is a timeline of their relationship.
March 2021: Gerald and Julia confirmed their relationship
The couple confirmed their relationship in March 2021, two years after they both denied Julia's involvement in Gerald and Bea Alonzo's breakup in 2019.
In the same month, Gerald celebrated his birthday with Julia in an Aeta community in Zambales. Julia also took to social media to greet the actor, saying “Everyday I celebrate you, but today I am extra grateful. Happy birthday my love, I am SO PROUD OF YOU.”
April 2021: Julia appears on Gerald’s vlog for the first time
A month after they confirmed their relationship, Julia made her first appearance in Gerald’s vlog, where they answered some questions from the fans.
One of questions was, “Are you willing to leave show business in exchange for a quiet life?”
According to Julia, she is because she had always dreamed of a “simple and quiet family life” and stated that one of her plans for the next five years is building a family.
December 2023: Gerald spends Christmas with Julia’s family in the US
In December 2023, Gerald spent Christmas with Julia’s family in the United States, which included her mom, Marjorie, and her siblings Claudia, Leon, and Dani.
April 2024: Julia talks about 'taking accountability' following Bea-Gerald controversy
In an April 2024 "Toni Talks" interview, Julia got candid about the controversy that involved Gerald and his ex-girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, saying she had "to take accountability for anong naging role mo sa chaos na 'yun."
When asked what her role was in that chaos, Julia had admitted that she's sure she caused "somebody else's pain, in the same way that they also contributed to my pain."
She also reiterated that she and Gerald were not together during that time, despite third-party allegations.
July 2024: Gerald, Julia attend Claudia’s birthday party
Gerald and Julia attended Claudia’s 25th birthday party in Makati, which was also attended by her mom and siblings.
June 2025: Gerald denies breakup rumors with Julia
Amid swirling rumors, Gerald denied breakup allegations during an episode of “Toni Talks” uploaded in June.
In the episode, he assured that he and Julia are still in a relationship.
"No, we're okay," he told Toni Gonzaga, refuting the breakup rumors.
September 2025: Split with Julia
Three months after Gerald's "Toni Talks" interview, Star Magic confirmed in a statement on September 18 that the couple “have mutually decided to end their relationship.”
“We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives,” the agency said. “Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support."
