The lead cast for the upcoming movie, “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” has been revealed!
On X (formerly Twitter), the hit movie franchise announced that Joseph Zada is taking on the role of young Haymitch Abernathy, the leader of District 12 tribute.
Meanwhile, Whitney Peak will play his girlfriend Leonore Dove Baird.
Based on the new novel by author Suzanne Collins, “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” is set 40 years after the events of the prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," and 24 years before Katniss Everdeen enters the arena.
In the original "Hunger Games" trilogy, Haymitch is the mentor of Katniss and Peeta Mellark.
“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” will be released on November 20, 2026.
