ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A Jordanian, whose business is allegedly linked to the two suspects in the Bondi Beach terror attack in Australia in December, was arrested for immigration violations yesterday in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.
According to reports of the 1st Infantry Division, operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), Philippine National Police, 102nd Infantry Brigade and 53rd Infantry Battalion apprehended Mohammad Saleh Odeh, 65, inside his establishment in Pagadian.
Earlier, the BI issued a mission order against Odeh for overstaying and engaging in business without proper visa or permit.
The 1st Infantry Division, under Maj. Gen. Yeggor Rey Barroquillo, said Odeh is under custody for investigation and documentation.
According to the military, intelligence information identify Odeh as a person of interest and places him under further review by government agencies.
Odeh reportedly obtained a temporary residence visa in 2023, but failed to renew it upon its expiration in March 2025.
