MANILA, Philippines – Eyes here, Caviteños! Do you want to hear directly from Cavite candidates running for governor, vice governor, mayor, and district representative?

Join Rappler’s first ever provincial election forum, Make Cavite Liveable Elections Kapihan on April 12! It will be held at the University of Perpetual Help Molino Gymnasium in Bacoor City, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

This kapihan is also done in partnership with information integrity coalition #FactsFirstPH, #MakeManilaLiveable, along with local partners University of Perpetual Help Molino Campus, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Education, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Communication Society, and the Cavite State University Journalism Guild.

Entrance is free but participants must register in advance. Participants will be asked to show the Rappler Communities app on their phones. The app will be used during the kapihan, for participants to send context, verify claims, and share insights about what the candidates will be saying during the forum.

Register here to attend in-person:

The whole kapihan will also be livetreamed on the Rappler website, and Rappler YouTube and Facebook pages.

Contribute to the discussion, suggest topics

Similar to our previous kapihan in Manila and Marikina, this is meant to be community-led, a discussion based on issues and concerns that affect Cavite voters.

To ensure this, we’re going to hold a community chat on April 7 to crowdsource questions and topics important to Caviteños. This live chat will happen in the liveable-cities public chat room, which you can join by downloading the Rappler Communities app, for free. It’s available on both App Store and Play Store.

Through the chat, let us know what Cavite candidates should be asked, what issues must be raised during the forum, and what matters to you as a Cavite resident.

For inquiries about the kapihan, email move.ph@rappler.com.
