BAGUIO CITY — Homeowners within Camp John Hay, including the management of hotels and golf estates, have appealed to Presi-dent Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to help them recoup their investments.

In a one-page letter dated Jan. 27, around 60 owners of the forest cabins, golf estates, The Forest Lodge, The Manor, Forest Estates, and Country Homes said while they respect a recent Supreme Court directing the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to take over the John Hay special economic zone where these units were built, the concerned parties want their rights to be respected.

In particular, the concerned parties requested that BCDA through the John Hay Management Corp. allow them to occupy their units or facilities while defend-ing their rights as innocent purchasers for value and in good faith.

They added that they were not parties to the arbitration process between BCDA and private developer Camp John Hay Devel-opment Corporation.

They also asked the president to enjoin BCDA to engage in dialogue with the aim of finding common grounds that benefit all parties.

"While we understand BCDA's plan to operate The Forest Lodge and The Manor as a hotel without residential units, we be-lieve that their plan can be achieved without disregarding our rights as owners of our respective units," read the letter to the pres-ident.

"For many of us, these properties represent more than just financial investments. They are homes where we intended it spend our retirement years in peace. For others, they serve as sources of livelihood through rentals and tourism," the letter added.

Among the primary signatories of the letter are Louie Natividad, Jefferson Ngie, Jose Saret, Elisa Santos, Jaime Tetangco, Maria Gisela Santos, Joselito Borlogan and the P.T. Limjoco Construction Co. Inc.
