MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actor Joel Torre was cast in the upcoming pan-Asian crime series "kiDnap Game" alongside other large names in the continent.
The co-production between Korea, Japan and Hong Kong will take place across seven different cities in Asia, including Manila.
The first cast for the project was Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi, best known for "The Last 10 Years," "Side by Side," "What Comes After Love," "Beyond Goodbye" and the "Signal" show and movie.
Next announced was Korean actor Lee Joon-gi, whose credits include "My Girl," "The King and the Clown," "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "Lawless Lawyer" and "Flower of Evil."
Torre's name was revealed alongside Taiwanese actress Alice Ko, Hong Kong singer and actor Stanley Yau, Singaporean actress Carrie Wong and Thai actress Plue-Nalponkamon Chaisen.
According to Fuji TV, one of the studios behind the project, Torre will play a taxi driver named Miguel who has been living in poverty ever since he was young.
"Miguel has a strong attachment to money and works tirelessly to prevent his children and grandchildren from suffering the same hardships he did, but his beloved grandchild is kidnapped," the company shared.
"kiDnap Game" is confirmed for broadcast and streaming in 18 countries and regions this October.
