MANILA, Philippines — A jobless man in his mid-30s and living with his parents turned up at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to claim half of the P284.6-million jackpot for the lotto 6/58 draw on Jan. 25.
According to the PCSO, the man is one of two people who picked the combination 39-37-04-11-02-09 for Ultra Lotto.
The man told the PCSO that he had been struggling to find stable employment, but remained hopeful and continued to participate in the lottery.
He said he planned to use his share of P142.3 million (before taxes) to settle long-standing debts and to give back to his parents, whom he credited for supporting him through difficult periods.
