MANILA, Philippines — Life could not have written a better story for Filipino-American Jessica Sanchez about her journey in the reality competition series "America's Got Talent."

Jessica joined the show's inaugural season as a 10-year-old and made it all the way to the semifinals.

After a runner-up finish on another competition show, "American Idol," and a brief recording career, she returned for the 20th season of "America's Got Talent" while expecting her first child with husband Rickie Gallardo.

The latter stint was highlighted by a Golden Buzzer during the audition phase and live performances, where she was visibly pregnant. It was a full circle moment for Jessica after she won the competition. Weeks later, she gave birth to her daughter Eliana.

Jessica is now back in the Philippines for an upcoming solo concert on Saturday, May 16, at the Araneta Coliseum, relaying her excitement during a media conference last May 11 in a hotel beside the venue.

During the event, Philstar.com asked the singer what she could recall about the time in between her Golden Buzzer audition and the live semifinals, months where expecting mothers like her would ordinarily devote their focus on their pregnancies.

"I wish that I had a camera on me at all times so you could see my natural reactions," Jessica began, admitting to be a perfectionist and an anxious person that overthinks a lot.

Upon receiving the Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara, the singer realized that her due date would be around the time of the live shows. However, she kept calm, crediting her chill nature at the time to God.

"I was good, I was [like], 'Everything's gonna be fine — whatever happens, happens — I'm just gonna leave it in the Lord's hands,'" Jessica continued. "And really, He delivered more than I could ever ask for."

Jessica noted that being pregnant during what many would think was "the most stressful time" was actually "the most beautiful time" for her.

She reiterated her thanks to God, as well as gratitude for Filipino supporters for showing their support for her on the internet, particularly after her "Beautiful Things" performance.

This Saturday, Jessica will have her stage and will be joined by some of the country's brightest musical acts, namely, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, James Reid, Morissette Amon, Darren Espanto, and Vice Ganda.
