MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actress Jessa Zaragoza revealed that her husband, singer Dingdong Avanzado, has been dealing with health challenges that have required multiple hospital visits, prompting her to postpone several work commitments.
In an Instagram post, Jessa apologized to those affected by her canceled and postponed schedules, explaining that she has been focused on caring for her husband.
"I've been MIA dahil sa mga todo pasang kaganapan sa life. Pasensya na sa mga na-postpone kong scheds. Di ako maka-focus talaga," she wrote.
According to Jessa, Dingdong has been in and out of the hospital since Father's Day and underwent surgery before being readmitted last Friday.
"Since Father's Day, June 22, we've been going back and forth to the hospital, as Dingdong's been facing health challenges," she shared.
The singer also reflected on the challenges of caring for a loved one who is ill.
"I've realized, di din biro mag-alaga ng loved ones mo na may karamdaman. I have to be on my toes all the time pag may kailangan siya," Jessa said.
She also expressed gratitude to their family and friends for their visits, prayers and food deliveries during Dingdong's hospitalization.
"We appreciate you all. Thank you for the prayers," she wrote.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Jessa said they are hopeful that Dingdong will be discharged in time to celebrate his upcoming birthday.
"We're looking forward to celebrating Dingdong's birthday out of the hospital. Yun na lang daw ang birthday wish niya," she shared.
Jessa likewise thanked Dingdong’s medical team, including cardiologist Dr. Perfecto Palafox, urologist Dr. PJ Fernandez, and infectious disease specialists Dr. Ariola and Dr. Ramos, for their care.
She ended her post by expressing gratitude and faith, writing, "Thank you, Lord."
Neither Jessa nor Dingdong disclosed the specific nature of the singer's medical condition. Fans and fellow celebrities flooded the comments section with messages of support and prayers for his speedy recovery.
