Jennylyn Mercado couldn't help but turn emotional when she recalled her love story with Dennis Trillo during their guesting on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Valentines Day Friday.

The Kapuso couple looked back on their early beginnings, with Dennis sharing that he first saw Jennylyn in Broadway Centrum when the Ultimate Survivors of "StarStruck" Season 1 were presented to the public.

According to the Kapuso Drama King, he found Jennylyn beautiful, but she didn't see him at the time because she was on stage.

Later on, Dennis would be part of her debut as one of her 18 Roses, before starring together in two soap operas.

During their first series, the two were in relationships with different people and didn't mind each other much. They only became closer during the time they starred in a second series together because htey were already single at the time.

"'Yung pangalawang soap syempre po meron na 'kong baby nun, siya rin meron, mas matanda lang 'yung sa 'kin ng one year so marami kaming napapagusapan, napapagkwentuhan tungkol sa parenting," shared Dennis.

"Nalaman ko nun na nag-m-mountain bike siya, eh adik ako nun sa bisikleta, so niyaya ko siya tapos after nun nasundan."

The two would then go on dates alone and they became officially together in April 2010. Their relationship did not last long at the time as they went their separate ways after only 11 months.

Per Jennylyn, she and Dennis would always fight then.

"Nung time na 'yun talaga palagi kaming nag-aaway andaming mga issues na hindi namin ma-resolve, siguro nangyari rin 'yun para magkaroon kami ng time. Marami rin kaming natutunan nung mga time na hindi kami magkasama," she said.

Dennis also acknowledged that they were still both immature that time when it came to handling problems in their relationsihip.

Both confirmed that jealousy played a role in their separation.

It would take four years before the two would reconcile, with Dennis suddenly texting Jennylyn out of the blue to ask her how she is.

The rest, they say, is history, as the couple patched things up and got back together. In November 2021, they tied the knot.

Tito Boy then asked Jennylyn and Dennis how hard or easy their decision was to get married.

The Kapuso Ultimate Star turned emotional as she shared she was already pregnant with Dylan at the time.

"Nung una, kasi syempre Tito Boy buntis na 'ko nun, so una 'yung naisip ko, 'Dahil ba buntis ako kaya mo 'ko pakakasalan?' Tinanong ko 'yan sa kaniya, sabi ko, 'Dahil ba buntis ako?' 'Di ba? 'Kaya mo ba ako pakakasalan kasi buntis ako?" she said as she got teary-eyed.

Dennis, however, assured her that her pregnancy was not the reason why.

"Pero hindi naman 'yun 'yung dahilan kasi noon pa lang, bago pa kami magpakasal, bago pa mag-pandemic at lahat, parang asawa na rin 'yung turingan namin sa isa't isa," he said.

Dennis also told Tito Boy that he understood why she framed her question that way and the context behind it.

"Oo naman po. Feeling ko, alam niya naman po 'yun dahil dun sa mga pinapakita ko sa kaniya, sa mga binigay ko sa kaniya na love pero syempre importante sa babae 'yung assurance at security na mabibigay ng isang tao sa kaniya," he said.

During their "Fast Talk" guesting, Jennylyn also recalled a funny story on their wedding day when Dennis brought the wrong box, leaving their wedding rings at home.

Jennylyn and Dennis will star in the rom-com film "Everything About My Wife," which is directed by Real Florida and produced by GMA Pictures, CreaZion Studios, and Glimmer Studio.

The movie will open in Philippine cinemas on February 26.
