The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, paid tribute to Jaclyn Jose, a year after the veteran, multi-awarded actress passed away.
On its website, the award-giving body published the full list of its “Oscars In Memoriam,” where it honored "friends and colleagues we lost over the last year.”
Jaclyn was among the celebrities and personalities that were included on the list, as well as "Gossip Girl" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Michelle Trachtenberg, among many others.
On Instagram Stories, Andi Eigenmann shared a screenshot of the "Oscars In Memoriam" list featuring her mother.
"My nanay is among other Hollywood artists and filmmakers who are remembered by the Academy this year," wrote Andi.
During the Oscars 2025 awarding ceremony, Morgan Freeman also delivered the "Oscars In Memoriam" segment, which paid homage to the personalities who passed away in 2024.
The almost six-minute segment included British actress Maggie Smith, "The Notebook" star Gena Rowlands, two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman, filmmaker David Lynch, James Earl Jones, Donald Sutherland, Jeff Baena, Dabney Coleman, Lourdes Portillo, Dick Pope, Bob Newhart, Joan Plowright, and more.
Jaclyn Jose, born Mary Jane Guck in 1963, passed away on March 2, 2024. She rose to fame in the 1980s following breakout performances in Lino Brocka's "White Slavery" and Chito Roño's "Private Show."
Her other films include "The Flor Contemplacion Story" (1995), "The Masseur" (2005), "Serbis" (2008), "Patay Na Si Hesus" (2016), and more. She also starred in several GMA Network series including "Marimar," "The Millionaire's Wife," and "D'Originals."
In 2016, Jaclyn won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Brillante Mendoza's "Ma' Rosa."
