Gilas Women star Jack Animam adds another stop to her well-travelled professional career as she takes her talents to the Women's Japan Basketball League
MANILA, Philippines – Just like some of her Gilas Pilipinas counterparts, Jack Animam is taking her act to the Land of the Rising Sun.
The Gilas Women star will see action in the Women’s Japan Basketball League after signing with the Denso Iris, the team announced on Wednesday, September 17.
“I’m looking forward to playing for all of you who support me and seeing you at the match venue,” said Animam. “I’m looking forward to playing for Denso Iris!”
Animam has been to different parts of the world after a storied collegiate run that saw her help the NU Lady Bulldogs capture five straight UAAP championships.
Her professional career saw her play for teams in Serbia, France, China, Australia, and Romania.
She last played for Romanian club FCC UAV Arad, keying the squad to a third-place finish in the 2024-25 season of the Liga Nationala.
In the previous FIBA Women’s Asia Cup hosted by China in July, Animam averaged a tournament-best 10.0 rebounds to go with 10.4 points, 2.8 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks.
Her do-it-all play allowed Gilas Women to place sixth and stay in the top-flight Division A. – Rappler.com
